The weather in the world of Hvalla is changing and unpredictable. When the Cataclysm occurred, an early winter took hold and extended itself longer than it ever had before. Since then, weather around the world has been difficult to forecast and even more wild than usual.

In the far North, the ice shelves are often lashed viciously and without remorse by wind and ice that is sharp enough to slice through fur and into skin.

In the far East, the mountains seem to be forever shrouded in deep, dark cloud, and the air - while always thin, has thinned further, and only the strongest breathe with ease.

In the far West, forests have grown chilly and devoid of warmth. Rain drenches the trees and thickens the earth into mud. Snow has begun to fall further South than it ever has done before.
