Overview
The glossary of terms is a list of phrases you might see used across the site.
Common Terms and Phrases
Class: An outline for a set of skills inherent to your warg.
Damage Dealer: A class designed to deal consistent damage while sustaining less damage in combat.
Focus: An item that acts as a channel or conduit for magic.
Freefolk: The majority of wargs in Hvalla, encompassing regular members of society, clan leaders, and race leaders.
Healer: A class designed to heal and support their party in combat.
IC: In Character. This are conversations held as if between characters, rather than players.
Latent Magic: Telekinesis possessed by all wargs.
Ley Well: A fount of pure, unbridled magic that has formed pools along ley lines.
Mage Magic: The magic beyond telekinesis that only some wargs possess.
Melee Weapon: A weapon for close-range combat.
OOC: Out of Character. This is knowledge held or conversations had between players rather than characters.
PvE: Player vs Everyone. This is combat between a player and game NPCs.
PvP: Player vs Player. This is combat between two people’s game characters.
Ranged Weapon: A weapon for long-range combat.
Role: A selection of skill sets, otherwise called talents, within a class to make your character more unique and “specialized” within their area of training.
Story Master (SM): Story Masters are the equivalent of a Dungeon Master (DM) in traditional TTRPGs. These individuals organize and are in charge of creating the details and challenges players encounter in the world.
Talent: An ability that has a statistical advantage in combat. It is always determined by class and specialization.
Tank: A class that is designed to take heavy hits and the brunt of danger while dishing it back.
Thrall: Slaves, convicts, and indentured servants owned by other wargs and considered second-class citizens.
