Clan Origins
Home City: The Glade Tree in Varkellr
The Glade Tree was an incredible city in the East known by its particularly large leaves and surrounded by Fire Trees. The Glade Tree was inhabited by particularly skilled hunters, warriors and scouts who were in the first line of defence against the Stonewarg of Jotunheim.
The Eldi-Stokkir clan was named by Eldur, a Fire Mage who saved an outlying village within the Forest of Glimé from an insectoid assault. This earned him a reputation as a protector of wargs and slayer of bugs. Eldur was a traveller by nature, but when his closest friend Vidür proposed that they journey to find a spot to settle down together, Eldur allowed himself to be convinced. It’s said that something deeper had been brewing between the two for some time, and they only grew closer on their long journey. Such a vibrant spark could only gutter; the proud and colorful fireleaf trees of Varkellr drew Eldur in irresistibly, but Vidür scoffed at the gaudy things, far more drawn to the elegant silverleaf trees of Draumrvollr. Light banter soon devolved into traded insults, and by the time the two returned to Ljosa they parted ways in anger, each cursing the other’s name. It wasn’t long before Eldur felt the sting of regret, but when he sought out Vidür, it was only to discover that his friend had already left for Draumrvollr. Hurt beyond words by the slight, Eldur left for Verkellr. His clan grew and flourished as the silence between the two stretched for a hundred years. Wounds softened with time, though, and following a series of heartfelt letters that spanned another decade, the two agreed to reunite. Unfortunately, fate had other plans. After news of Vidür’s death reached him, Eldur was never the same. He returned to his wandering ways, and met his end alone in the wilderness.

Clan Culture & Values
Temper every warg alike in the fire of justice.
Members of the Eldi-Stokkir all wear a preserved leaf from the Fire Tree on their lapel as a pin. Unique among the clans, they have an affinity for fire mages, and are often especially welcoming to any fire mage who wishes to complete an initiation trial and join their ranks. They are a no-nonsense clan that takes pride in stoicism and self-discipline. They place a great weight on justice and the rule of law, and many of their number often find jobs in the guard or military. Others tend to view them as stubborn, but to Eldi-Stokkir, the matter is simple; if a crime hasn’t been atoned for, it can’t be forgiven.
- Decisiveness: A course of action should be an axe sunk deep into deadwood, clear and confident.
- Experience: There is no treasure greater than wisdom won through experience.

Clan Politics
Eik-Saer Clan
Status: Neutral
Though they still hold a historical truce with Eik-Saer, the two clans are equally unimpressed with one another. The Eldi-Stokkir consider the Eik-Saer to be pompous and flaky, altogether too concerned with decorum to do the unpleasant things that need doing.
Bjarkan-Kind Clan
Status: Neutral
The Bjarkan-kind are impractical and often the source of trouble, and the Eldi-Stokkir tolerate them with much reluctance and many sighs. The skills and trades of the Bjarkin-Kind and the Eldi-Stokkir tend to be complementary, and they often exist symbiotically in settlements, though not always peacefully.
Forra-Yr Clan
Status: Enemies
The Eldi-Stokkir consider the Forra-Yr to be a bunch of sighing ninnies, too complacent in their one great claim to history. They were only important in the time of Havardr, and haven’t been of much note since.
Myrkr-Auga Clan
Status: Neutral
Myrkr-Auga reception to the Eldi-Stokkir has always been somewhat chilly, though the clans maintain a peaceful relationship. For their part, the Eldi-Stokkir hold no ill feelings toward the Myrkr-Auga, and respect the knowledge they carry from the Keepers.
Lae-Daudr Clan
Status: Enemies
Eldi-Stokkir hold no love for the Lae-Daudr, and view them as dangerous, bloodthirsty upstarts who will stop at nothing to upset the rule of law. Gisla’s trespass and her execution of Highwarg Aileas will never be forgiven.
Auona-Modr Clan
Status: Allies
Though their fascination with skulls and secrecy is baffling to Eldi-Stokkir sensibilities, Auona-Modr stayed true to the Eldi-Stokkir during their darkest hour. The clan has never forgotten and holds Auona-Modr in high regard as a true and steadfast friend.

Clan Festivals & Events
Initiation
In order to join this clan, a Warg must bring the Highwarg the head of an insectoid as proof of their worthiness. Though bigger bugs tend to make a bigger impression, the physical strength and stature of the warg in question is taken into account when judging their offering, and the offered insectoid is only refused under egregious circumstances (such as, if the head of a domestic Gryllo were to be brought before the Highwarg). Wargs are judged and accepted individually, and the clan will occasionally hold group celebrations for initiates when enough new wargs have joined their ranks.
Ascension
The ascension of a Senwarg is a small and secretive ceremony, often only involving the current Highwarg and other select Eldi-Stokkir of renown. With many magical precautions taken, a small ring of fire is erected in a hidden location, and the new Senwarg must leap through it onto a raised dais. There they speak the oath of the Eldi-Stokkir and complete their ascension. The ascension of a Highwarg is a far more public affair. Often referred to as the ‘Trial of Aileas,’ the new Highwarg must carry a burning torch over a set path through the city of Ljosa and ensure that it does not go out. To the Eldi-Stokkir this is a defiant and sacred remembrance, but many of the other clans tend to view it as somewhat petty and overdramatic. The use of fire is not popular among outsiders, either, and the torchbearer often receives jeers or reprimands.
Leaf Jumping
A dangerous but exhilarating sport, the wargs of Eldi-Stokkir throw massive tourneys in the last days of Summer for their clansmates (and sometimes the occasional lucky/unlucky outsider). Leaf jumping involves jumping onto the largest leaves of the forest trees and successfully riding them all the way to the forest floor. Not always successful, competitors can expect severe injuries and sometimes for the most unlucky, death. Prizes include money from wagers and trophies, as well as the notoriety of being the winner. So far, no outsider has ever won.
