Clan Origins
Clan Brightstone's origins are deeply intertwined with the remarkable life of its founder, Hellhea. Her unwavering dedication to the natural world led her to unlock the ancient wisdom of the earth, allowing her to harness its extraordinary powers. Her transformative journey unveiled the secrets of cultivating the land, nurturing the soil, and taming the once-wild creatures that roamed the untamed wilderness of Jotunheim. Hellhea emerged as a true steward of the earth, recognizing its abundant gifts and its potential to sustain the warg clans. Guided by her wisdom, Clan Brightstone rose as a symbol of prosperity and resourcefulness, mastering the arts of agriculture, animal husbandry, and the discovery of hidden treasures beneath the earth's surface. The clan's very essence was shaped by their harmonious coexistence with the land, leaving behind a legacy of sustenance, abundance, and a deep reverence for the earth's boundless bounty.

Clan Culture & Values
Brightstone specialized in tilling the ground and domesticating the beasts that had once been hunted throughout Jotunheim. Talented makers like their cousins of Clan Fellhammer, Clan Brightstone supplied Wargrun with meats, vegetables and most importantly of all, beer. To join Clan Brightstone, a warg must produce a food item of great merit and deliver it to their Jarl.
Bloodstones
Bloodstones are sapphires with crisp white lettering with a subtle silver sheen.
Death Rites
Brightstone bury their dead, typically on their own farmlands or family farmlands if possible so that their bodies may nourish the soil. Graves are marked with simple stones, sometimes without markings or with runes lost to time, but the family treasure them all the same. To move or disturb these stones is said to cause the spirit to rise and haunt the defiler. Dishonorable wargs are simply left where they fell to be forgotten and picked by crows.
Clan Colors
Sapphire Blue, Emerald, Mud

Clan Festivals & Events
Jarl Naming
Brightstone Jarl ceremonies start in the very early hours of the day. Members of the clan gather near the clan’s longhouse with their most prized livestock and food goods. The Jarl’s first duty is to choose the prize of the feast, traditionally a pig, though cattle, sheep and even fish have featured in the past. Once the Jarl makes their choice, the animal is slaughtered and roasted over a spit until the feast later in the night. The owner of the animal is given a hefty prize purse and is named the feast’s honored guest. The rest of the day mostly deals in preparation for the feast, though other smaller contests, also judged by the Jarl, take place. Vendors often frequent the event with exotic spices and unusual animals. Many Brightstone members use this as both a networking opportunity to source new and better ingredients and also to show off their skills. Most recipes used for this event are family secrets that are highly guarded.
Once preparations are finished, generally lasting until sundown, everyone feasts and toasts to the new Jarl and to the contest winners.
Thane Naming
The Thane’s naming is akin to a livestock fair. Clan members often spend generations breeding and cultivating their livestock and the Thane’s naming is their opportunity to be judged and show off their prime stock.
While there are other festivities. The main event is the judging. Most of the day will be spent near the livestock ring watching contests. At the end of the event, the Thane will announce the winner who will receive a generous purse. While it is not technically written that the winner then gifts the winning livestock to the Thane, it would be a great dishonor to go against tradition and not do so. In turn, the Thane is then expected to care for the creature and is not allowed to butcher them until they reach the end of their natural life. It is considered a bad omen if the creature were to fall ill or otherwise parish before their time. When the animal does eventually pass, Thanes will often give them funerals similar to that of clan members as a final honor to the gift giver.
